How well does a competency portfolio generally have to be to get a passing grade?
Q. examples would be nice... i've got one to go in soon and i'm paranoid about it. the result of the whole two year course hinges on it and the viva that follows. want to know if i'm screwed or not, as it's quite full but i fear quantity is totally displacing quality and the assessor will notice that. Firstly: Wow, (first answerer) a bible reference with a point to it. You get a gold star for being one of the first switched on committed christians i've seen contributing here :) Secondly: It's a thing that might be also called a proficiency log, an evidence of work folder, that sort of thing. I've got a looong list of things someone somewhere thought i should know / experience / be able to do in order to pass the course for a certain in-post-t [cont.]

A. I never heard of one of those, but , perhaps if you do a search under "competency portfolio" you could get lots of answers. With the little bit of reading I did, I think quality is of more value than quantity. If you have not done so in the past, do what the Bible recommends. "Whatsoever ye do in word or in deed, do all to the glory of God." (Cannot find the reference, but memorized it a long time ago.) In other words, if it's worth doing, it's worth doing well.

A. it really depends on what vehicle you are refering to. Some magnetic pick ups use 3 wire. Most likely you are talking about a hall effect sensor.
